Manchester City’s title aspirations took a massive dent today, as they crumbled to a 3-1 home defeat to Chelsea today.
City had actually taken the lead – albeit fortuitously – through a Gary Cahill OG, and were 1 goal to the good at half-time.
But they completely fell asunder in the second half, and ultimately ran out 3-1 losers, as they simply had no answer to Chelsea’s quick-fire counters.
It could have been different for City had Kevin De Bruyne scored from a golden chance to make it 2-2, but even had he scored, you always got the feeling Chelsea could finish City off on the break.
Aguero and Fernandinho see red

And by the end, a lot of City players had lost their heads, and couldn’t control their frustration.
Sergio Aguero was involved in a heated duel with David Luiz throughout the game, and ultimately succumbed to his frustration, taking out the Brazilian defender with a scathing high challenge, which resulted in a deserved red card.
Cue mosh pit, as players from both sides charged in for some heated exchanges.
City midfielder Fernandinho took things a little too far with his chokehold on Cesc Fabregas, and he too saw red, as City finished the game with 9 men.
And that’s great news for Arsenal fans: both players will miss City’s upcoming game against the Gunners.
