TOP SECRET OF HOW SEYI MAKINDE MAKES MONEY ON DAILY BASIS

Governor Seyi Makinde seemed to have set accountability and anti-corruption agenda for other state governors in Nigeria as he made public his assets on July 15, 2015. He is worth over N48 billion according to Code of Conduct Bureau form 1 he submitted in CCB office in Ibadan, Oyo state capital.

While opposition party in the state, All Progressive Congress (APC), questioned the sources of his wealth, more facts have emerged how and where the engineer-turned politician is making some of his money on a daily basis.


According to his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr. Jide Ajani, Governor Makinde makes a daily profit from forex.

“When he declared the amount he paid in taxes to the Federal Government, people said it can’t be true. But he told them, wait, when I assume office I will declare my assets and that’s what he has just done.


“He earns royalty almost on a daily basis all over the World from forex,” Ajani said while featuring on Channels TV’s Sunrise Daily.

According to Governor Makinde’s media aide, his boss has been making money on forex trading on a daily basis all around the World.

“Forex trading may make you rich if you are a hedge fund with deep pockets or an unusually skilled currency trader. It has its downs as well,” investopedia.comexplains.


According to his form of assets declaration, the governor also has existing Bonds (Eurobond) worth $3, 793, 500 as well as shares, debentures and other securities valued at N120,500,000.

Recalled that Engr. Makinde empathically stated during electioneering campaigns “Let me say this and you can also check it out, over the past eight years, I’ve been paying taxes, TAXES, close to 1.5 billion Naira every year to the government of Nigeria.”

This latest revelation buttresses the claim made by the governor that he had paid billions of Naira in taxes to the Federal Government.


A check by Opera News also shows that “Like other forms of payment in a business, royalties are taxable income and also a business expense.”

Mr. Ajani also stated on Channels TV that his boss’ companies have nine offices spread across three countries. According to him, there are seven offices in Nigeria, one in South Africa, and one in Texa, United States.

He said if Governor Makinde had ulterior motives, he would not have made public his assets or set-up EFCC-like anti-graft agency in the state.
