BBN’s Phyna has opened up about her financial struggles years after winning the reality show, saying family pressure and constant demands for money has left her financially drained
During a tearful TikTok Live session, she explained that she believed she was helping her family after her win, but later realised most of her money was going into repeated requests instead of investments or personal growth.

She added that there was little concern about her future financial stability.
She claimed she supported multiple family needs and projects, saying the pressure kept increasing over time.
She said:
“I thought I was helping families sort out debt. I thought I was helping. I thought I was, you know, normal… money don come and so I had to share it.”
“Nobody was interested in me investing. Nobody. Everybody just wanted money.”
“I know how many boreholes I dig for them for family. I know how many.”

She also described how things changed when she started refusing some financial requests:
According to her, the pushback she received after setting boundaries led to misunderstandings and conflict within her family, which she believes also affected her finances.
She further said she felt trapped between being expected to provide constantly and trying to protect what remained of her earnings:
“The moment I started saying no like this, na that day my problem start… that has been the beginning of my problem.”
“Somebody will ask for N1M… let me give you 500,000. Now I cannot just say no, I enter problem.”, she added.
