Your move, Werder
Serge Gnabry scores hat-trick for Germany, Weder troll Arsenal
Having come through the ranks at Arsenal, many Gooners were disappointed to see Gnabry leave in the summer, and that disappointment has been exacerbated as he’s taken the Bundesliga by storm with 3 goals in first 6 league games.
Most Gooners would have loved to see Gnabry make it at the club long-term, but Wenger never really seemed convinced by him, giving him just 10 league appearances before loaning him out to West Brom last season, and then finally selling him.
But Arsenal’s loss is Werder’s gain, and the club really enjoyed Gnabry’s exhibition tonight, while rubbing salt in Arsenal fans’ wounds.
They took to Twitter to send a cheeky message to the Gunners, essentially sticking their tongue out to say ‘too bad for you bro.’
Arsenal come back with epic response
It took them two hours, but Arsenal did finally come up with a brilliant response to Werder’s trolling.
Scrolling their memory banks, they remembered that Ray Parlour scored a hat-trick against Werder in the 2000 UEFA Cup quarter-finals, and were keen to remind them of that.
Since then, it’s been silence from Werder Bremen. Checkmate move from Arsenal.
