Zlatan on fire!!! He had a bit of an autumn blip, but Zlatan Ibrahimovic is very much on fire once again. Manchester United’s decision to sign the 35-year-old Swede on a free transfer last summer raised some eyebrows, but he’s dispelled all those doubts.
Aside from a bit of a goal drought in October, Zlatan has been brilliant.
Indeed, even during that goal drought, his performances remained very good, it’s just that he momentarily lost his shooting boots.
He recently likened himself to a fine red wine, and justifiably so: he still looks at the peak of his powers, and his current goals record is testament to that: he recently reached the 450 career goal milestone, and 2016 hasn’t been too bad for him either.
2 goals to beat Messi
Incredibly, he’s now on 50 goals for the year 2016 – just imagine how many he’d be on if he’d scored all those sitters he’d missed for United!
Messi leads the way with 51 goals, and as Barcelona won’t be playing any more due to La Liga’s winter break, that means Zlatan can overtake his former teammate by scoring two goals against Middlesbrough tomorrow.
