Youngster Bukayo Saka impressed as Arsenal scored twice in the final 12 minutes to avoid defeat to Standard Liege in Belgium.
Saka made a goal for Alexandre Lacazette and then scored a fine effort himself as the Gunners shrugged off a disjointed performance to come on strongly late on.
The hosts had taken a 2-0 lead thanks to two deflected strikes from Samuel Bastien and Selim Amallah, with both leaving stand-in Gunners goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez wrong-footed.
Frankfurt’s defeat to Vitoria in Group F’s other game ensured that the Gunners finish top of the group.
