“Why I celebrate when people get divorced” — Bovi

Nigerian comedian Bovi Ugboma has shared his thoughts on marriage and divorce, revealing that he does not view divorce as a failure in every situation.

In a conversation on The Morayo Show, Bovi said he sometimes celebrates when couples decide to end their marriages, explaining that it can be a sign that one or both individuals were unhappy in the relationship.

“I celebrate when people get divorced because I feel it means one or two people were not breathing well inside that space. I will not suffer anybody, neither will I want anybody to suffer me,” he said.

The comedian, however, noted that his comments should not be interpreted as a dismissal of marriage. Reflecting on his own union, Bovi admitted that maintaining a successful marriage has come with its own challenges.


According to him, his 17-year marriage has not been easy, describing the journey as a long and demanding one.

He also revealed that he got married at the age of 29 and has remained the sole provider for his family throughout the years.
