Binance has announced restrictions on transactions involving 17 cryptocurrency service providers and platforms across several countries, including three entities linked to Nigeria.
The cryptocurrency exchange said the move was prompted by recent regulatory developments and that the restrictions would take effect in phases.
Among the affected platforms are A7 Nigeria, which operates in Nigeria; A7 Africa, with operations in Nigeria and Zimbabwe; and PilotFinance Ltd, based in Nigeria. The restrictions on these entities became effective on August 13, 2026.
Binance did not provide detailed information on the specific regulatory developments behind the decision.
More Platforms to Face Restrictions
The exchange said additional restrictions would be introduced in phases against several other cryptocurrency platforms operating in different parts of the world.
The affected entities include Shelbit (Shelbit General Trading LLC), which operates in the United Arab Emirates and Iran, and Aban Tether Exchange, based in Iran.
Binance also listed Rapira and Aifory Pro (Sooty Ltd.), both operating in Georgia; ABCeX (Nueva Cryptologia S.A.S DE C.V.), linked to El Salvador and Georgia; as well as WhiteBird and Tradex (Brightum LLC), based in Belarus.
Other platforms named in the restrictions include NoOnecrypto INC., which operates internationally, Monease Ltd in the United Kingdom, BitPapa in the UAE, and Exnode and Exnode Pay (Arvix) in Georgia.
HTX (Huobi Global SA) and EXMO Ltd, which have operations connected to China and Europe respectively, are also among the affected platforms.
Binance Issues Warning to Users
Binance advised users not to conduct transactions with the affected entities after the applicable restriction dates.
The exchange also warned users against disclosing, publishing or sharing their wallet addresses with third parties or platforms in a way that could associate them with the restricted service providers.
Binance said transactions attempted after the restriction dates could be held and subjected to compliance reviews.
The exchange further noted that it may restrict affected wallets while reviews are ongoing and warned that certain activities could constitute violations of its terms of use.
Why the Development Matters to Nigerian Crypto Users
The inclusion of three Nigeria-linked platforms is likely to attract attention among cryptocurrency users and businesses operating in the country.
However, Binance's announcement does not state that cryptocurrency transactions involving Nigeria as a whole have been suspended. Rather, the restrictions specifically concern the named cryptocurrency service providers and platforms.
Binance said it is required to comply with regulatory requirements in the jurisdictions where it operates.
Users dealing with any of the affected platforms are therefore advised to review Binance's latest notices and ensure that their transactions comply with applicable regulations and platform rules.
